EventConnect™ Case Study

EventConnect™

Project Overview

Usability tests with 4 people revealed that people need to feel a sense of success when they finish booking. This can be done by adding green checkmarks.

Building off of previous research EventConnect™ had done, I collaborated with other interns to redesign their registration system. They needed the system to match their clients’ website to make a seamless booking experience. We each made our own designs separately, and received regular feedback.

Role: UX/UI Designer Intern
Duration: Approximately 130 hours (equivalence of 3 to 4 weeks)

This is roughly what the original looks like (screenshot by their CEO John D’Orsay, then I altered the image to hide sensitive information):

Screenshot of EventConnect™'s original registration dashboard. The page has very little colour, and it is not clear what the user is meant to do first.

This was my version (combined with my team member Purvi’s designs), before I did the usability tests:

After discovering from the usability tests that the user needs to feel success, I added checkmarks:

Results

User impact: We predict that users coming from the client’s websites to the registration system will have a seamless experience.
Business impact: We predict that this will increase the conversion rates.
